We Had an Awesome Tanzania Mission!

To everyone:

Thank you for all of your prayers for our Tanzania mission. We have been back for a few weeks, and I am realizing I haven’t sent an update to all of you faithful prayer partners. Let it be said that our God is a great and faithful God who took the small offering that our group of 29 made and multiplied it many times to the greatness of His kingdom and the people of Tanzania. Our trip was indescribably amazing, but I’ll give it a shot:

1) Everyone was kept safe, with only a couple of minor injuries and minor illnesses. In construction of the church, there were numerous chances for serious injury, but God’s hand protected those who served him.

2) A group of 29 diverse people came together in a harmonious way that only God could have orchestrated. Despite some challenging conditions and situations, everyone approached the mission with a heart of humility and cooperation. I love each and every person on that trip as if they were family, and we were received in the same way.

3) We were given opportunities to share our faith. We had God-loving translators there that helped us to talk with the locals, and their faith was amazing and a blessing to us all. I am thankful that we had a chance to share our faith in hopes of bringing people to Christ. God equipped us with the skills we needed to do this in a new environment and I praise Him for that! It was a great privilege to be in this position.

4) Last but far from least, it was estimated that 1000 people made decisions to become followers of Jesus Christ. Praise God!!!

Thanks for all of your prayers and support. We will be having a Show and Share meeting to talk about our experiences in the Sixes UMC sanctuary on August 2, 2009 at 5:00pm (just after the UMW’s Ice Cream Social). We’d love to have all of our supporters come. Praise God for He is great!

We Want You to Join Us Next Year!

Witness in Africa- three options in 2010!! June 19- July 2, 2010, July 3-17, 2010 or stay the whole month!

This is our big trip of the year— two weeks in Tanzania! Main activities will be as follows:

Missions—We will be visiting different villages in the Singida region, building or refurbishing village church meeting places, and sharing our faith and love with brothers and sisters in Tanzania!

Sagara—We will be visiting this village, the location of the site where we hope to assist locals with building a water well for Tanzanians who currently walk four miles (each way) and must still settle for contaminated water for their families.

Safari—We will be spending 3 days on safari in the preserves of Northern Tanzania—specifically Ngorogoro Crater (home of the Big Five), Tarangire National Park (The seasonal gathering place for hundreds of elephants) and Lake Manyara National Park (famous for its tree climbing lions). This will be a great opportunity to see the wonder of God’s creation up close and personal!
