This is a trip that is truly borne out of a prayer to God! One day, while I was trying to "find time" to do my daily Bible study, I knew that my attitude needed adjusting. So, I prayed for God to teach me to relish opportunities to dive into His word. I should be looking forward to doing my Bible homework- not just trying to "fit it in".

God answered my prayer in an amazing way. He brought to my mind the millions of people in this world who are not able to openly study the word of God due to the Bible being unavailable, hostile governments, warfare or even simple illiteracy. He also inspired me to realize that it wasn't so long ago that our forefathers faced these same obstacles. Many men and women faced hardship and some were even killed in order that common people like us could read and study God's word in our own language and at our leisure. I was suddenly struck by how blessed I was and by what a high price was paid for that blessing.

Our England trip is an homage to all that has gone before so that we could know God and experience His Son through the His word. We will experience the spiritual growth of Britain through the ages: from the prehistoric study of the heavens at Stonehenge, through the Roman occupation that brought Christianity to England, to the spectacular cathedrals of the Middle Ages, into the Reformation and modern worship in contemporary Britain. We'll visit many significant Christian sites as well as attend local religious services throughout the trip. At the British Library, we will even be able to view some of the sacred texts that opened the door for many to know God and cost the lives of many of His servants.
