Sat13-SeptDay 2BLDLand in London and take bus to our hotel in Bristol. Today we will talk about birthplace of Wycliff and the earliest English Bible translations of Caedmon; visit Methodist New Room (the first Methodist church in existence); visit Wesley chapel and home of Charles Wesley, who wrote many hymns; Accomodations in Bristol
Sun14-SeptDay 3BLDGuided tour of Stonehenge, Avebury and Glastonbury, the site of the first Christian sanctuary in England (tradition has it that the abbey was built by Joseph of Arimathea, the friend who gave his own tomb for Jesus's burial). We'll also enjoy a photostop at Lacock Abbey, and attend an evensong service at the spectacular Wells Cathedral. City tour of Bath, including the Roman baths and pump room.
Mon15-SeptDay 4BLDGuided Tour of Cotswolds and parrish churches. We'll enjoy a traditional High Tea lunch in the Cotswolds before traveling to Oxford for the night. If time permits, we'll visit exquisite Blenheim Palace
Tues16-SeptDay 5BLDTour Oxford, home of Bible translators Wycliff, Tyndale and Coverdale, as well as John Wesley and CS Lewis. We'll tour the famous colleges of Oxford as well as the famous dining hall and chapel. We'll eat lunch at Eagle and Child Pub, where The Inklings met (including CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien and others)and then tour The Kilns (CS Lewis's home), Holy Trinity Church and Headington Quarry (where CS Lewis is buried).
Wed17-SeptDay 6BLDA visit to London wouldn't be complete without riding a red double decker bus! We'll see many sights in the city including famouse circuses and Parks, the Jewel Tower, Parlaiment, Big Ben, Westminster Bridge, Westminster Abbey and attend the Buckingham Palace guard change (11am). Afterwards, we'll visit the British Museum and see many artifacts and treasures to Christians. That night, we'll ride the London Eye.
Thurs18-SeptDay 7BLDAnother great day in London: British Library to see the Sacred Manuscripts and Bible exhibit, Millineum Bridge, and The Monument. That night we'll tour Shakespeare's Globe Theater and see a play.
Fri19-SeptDay 8BLDRevisit London's denominational history including Charles Spurgeon's Metropolitain Tabernacle, the Wesley Chapel and Museum of Methodism, John Wesley's house and Bunhill Fields Cemetary, the Aldersgate Memorial,
Sat20-SeptDay 9BLDOur adventure is coming to an end! We'll breakfast at our hotel then travel to the airport and fly home!
